What We've Achieved

  • Formally established Friends board, January 2017

  • Established not-for-profit status August 2017, as well as online donations, Fidelity account for stocks/securities and estate planning and Benevity account for corporate matching

  • Participated in GiveMethow and #GivingTuesday

  • Established relationships with the Town of Winthrop and North Central Regional Library board and staff

  • Set up social media, website and communications

  • Conducted Needs Assessment

  • Hosted volunteer and public events

  • Partnered with Methow Arts to put on an arts and literacy program in the elementary school

  • Established LBHS scholarship for 2018-19

  • Achieved GOLD rating from Guidestar

  • Worked with the Town of Winthrop to identify and purchase land for the new library

  • Hired Executive Director

  • Awarded state funding for $2M to be matched

Ongoing:

Coordination and partnership with the Town of Winthrop, Chamber of Commerce and North Central Washington Libraries and other local organizations

Sourcing and scheduling adult programming in response to community requests and to support community discussion of library needs and opportunities
