Our Mission

Friends of the Winthrop Public Library cultivates community, literacy and learning by supporting the work of the Winthrop Public Library and envisioning and building its future.

What We've Achieved

  • Formally established Friends board, January 2017
  • Established not-for-profit status August 2017, as well as online donations, Fidelity account for stocks/securities and estate planning and Benevity account for corporate matching
  • Participated in GiveMethow and #GivingTuesday
  • Established relationships with the Town of Winthrop and North Central Regional Library board and staff
  • Set up social media, website and communications 
  • Conducted Needs Assessment
  • Hosted volunteer and public events
  • Partnered with Methow Arts to put on an arts and literacy program in the elementary school
